MURREE – Sardar Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister of Punjab, arrived in Murree on Sunday to supervise the rescue operation in the area after 23 persons died in their snow-trapped cars.
According to reports, the chief minister will also pay a visit to the areas affected by the snowstorm and will be informed on the rescue operation.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has also received a preliminary report on the terrible occurrence.
According to sources, Murree has the capability to park 32,000 vehicles, but more than 72,000 vehicles entered Murree on Thursday, according to a report given to the Punjab chief minister.
The report also indicated that when parking spaces were no longer available, tourists placed their vehicles on the side of the road.
At least 23 individuals have died as a result of getting stuck in their automobiles during a snowfall in Murree and other northern parts of the country.
Soldiers from the Pakistan Army also supported the civil administration in relief efforts to help trapped tourists.
