The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a flood alert for the Chenab River.

According to the PDMA, the Chenab River is projected to surge to low to medium flood levels at the Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad headworks.

At all of the points mentioned, the river’s water is anticipated to reach 110,000 to 170,000 cusec.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has ordered Sialkot and other affected district administrations to remain vigilant and ensure that people are evacuated if a flood occurs.

He also instructed the appropriate authorities to keep a close eye on the lower to medium flood situation at the Marala, Khanki, and Qadirabad headworks.
