SAN FRANCISCO(AFP) – The slow release of Donald Trump’s new social networking app began Monday, but hundreds of potential users faced problems or were placed on a waitlist due to “huge demand,” according to the app.
The app, named Truth Social, will be “completely operational” by the end of March, according to Devin Nunes, CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG). The new app’s parent firm is TMTG.
Truth Social topped the list of the most downloaded applications in Apple’s US App Store on Monday morning, beating out TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.
Attempts to download it, however, proved unsuccessful.
The message was received by some: “Something didn’t work out. Please try one more.”
