Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will arrive in Pakistan today (Thursday) on a two-day state visit at Prime Minister Imran Khan’s invitation.
A high-level delegation will accompany the President, including the Foreign Minister, numerous Cabinet members, top government officials, and business and media leaders.
President Mirziyoyev will visit Pakistan for the first time since assuming office in 2016.
The state visit by President Mirziyoyev will take place on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The two presidents will discuss all elements of bilateral ties during their visit, including political, trade, and economic cooperation, connectivity, education, culture, security, and defence.
They’ll have a broad conversation about critical regional and worldwide issues. A number of bilateral agreements/memorandums of understanding (MoUs) will be signed.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will hold a one-on-one meeting with Uzbek President Islam Karimov, followed by delegation-level discussions and a joint media stakeout.
The prime minister will also host a state luncheon in his honour. Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi will meet separately.
