On Thursday, Tesla hosted a “cyber rodeo” in Texas for thousands of electric vehicle fans to mark the opening of a production plant the size of 100 soccer fields.
Photos and videos of attendees roaming the massive factory building decked out in a distinctive nightclub appearance flooded Twitter.
Visitors interacted under red and blue lights while industrial machinery and Tesla models were presented like museum artwork. Outside, cars in the shape of the Texas flag were parked.
Bulldozers were still operating near the so-called “gigafactory,” which, according to placards, was constructed with more steel than New York City’s iconic Empire State Building.
