LONDON – UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife were fined by police on Tuesday for violating COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, according to the government.
Johnson will be the first serving prime minister in living memory to be found in violation of the law, according to the statement.
Earlier on Tuesday, police said they will issue at least another 30 penalties to persons who attended meetings in Johnson’s offices and house in violation of rigorous coronavirus lockdown guidelines, bringing the total to more than 50.
