Turkey accused certain NATO partners on Wednesday of wanting the Ukraine war to extend longer in order to harm Russia.
“Some NATO nations want the battle to continue,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said CNN Turk in an interview.
“They want Russia to weaken,” Cavusoglu added, as discussions between Ukrainians and Russians appear to have stopped following their last face-to-face meeting in Istanbul last month. They were supposed to continue online.
He made no direct mention of any country.
Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson, claimed on Wednesday that Ukrainians were “withdrawing from what had previously been agreed upon.”
