According to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and military analysts, the US campaign to provide artillery to Ukraine intends to damage Russian troops not just on the battlefield but also in the long run.
The United States, France, the Czech Republic, and other allies are delivering a large number of long-range howitzers to assist Ukraine in countering Russia’s growing onslaught in the eastern Donbas area.
The allies expect that with improved air defence, attack drones, and Western information, Kiev would be able to destroy a major portion of Russia’s weapons in the next clash.
Austin told media in Poland early Monday after returning from Kyiv, where he visited Ukraine’s defence leaders and President Volodymyr Zelensky, that Washington’s aspirations are higher.
Russia “has already lost a lot of military capabilities, as well as a lot of troops, to be honest. And we want to see them not be able to easily replicate that skill “Austin stated.
