Following the report of the so-called “Delimitation Commission” in the occupied territory, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari spoke by phone with Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on Thursday to update him on the latest situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The so-called “Delimitation Commission,” according to Bilawal Bhutto, “has validated the Kashmiri people’s worst fears that the BJP Government in India sought to disempower and disenfranchise them by altering the demographic structure of the IIOJK with the goal of converting the Muslim majority in the state.”
This illegal and absurd attempt was made in violation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions, international law, and the 4th Geneva Convention, which imposes certain obligations on occupying powers, including the obligation not to change the demographic structure of occupied territories, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Pakistanis and Kashmiris have flatly rejected it, he added.
