The Pentagon announced Tuesday that a probe into a US strike in Syria in 2019 that killed multiple civilians found no policy violations or willful negligence.
On March 18, 2019, a special US force operating in Syria launched an airstrike on an Islamic State stronghold in Baghouz, according to an internal US Army inquiry.
The probe began last year when the New York Times reported that the US military had covered up scores of non-combatant deaths during the original operation.
According to the New York Times, the strike claimed the lives of 70 individuals, many of them were women and children.
