CANADA (Web Desk) – Concern has been voiced by a number of Canadian legislators over Pakistan’s violations of human rights.

16 members of the Canada-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group wrote to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau requesting prompt action to solve the problem.

The parliamentarians called attention to the PTI party’s leaders and employees being targeted by the Pakistani government. They voiced their dismay at the police’s detention of more than 7,500 PTI employees, including women.

They underlined the value of exercising one’s right to do so peacefully and harshly denounced any acts of violence and arrests. They emphasised the need of impartial trials in Pakistani civil courts.
