On Thursday, Pervez Khattak, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a former KP chief minister, resigned from the party.
Khattak announced his resignation from the party office during a news conference in Islamabad, and he condemned the May 9 vandalism. He was also a member of the PTI core committee.
The former KP chief minister stated that he had earlier condemned the incidents on May 9. He stated that he made his decision after “consulting with his friends.”
