According to US security specialists on Thursday, hackers took data from the computers of a number of users of the popular file transfer programme MOVEit Transfer, one day after the software’s inventor revealed a security concern.
After identifying the flaw on Wednesday, software maker Progress Software Corp (PRGS.O) issued a warning that it might allow unauthorised access to customers’ computers.
The Burlington, Massachusetts-based company’s managed file transfer software allows businesses to transmit files and data between business partners and clients.
