On Monday afternoon in Vermont, a motorcycling accident claimed the life of actor Treat Williams from American film and television. He was 71.

International news agencies are reporting that the Golden Globe-nominated veteran, who had a career spanning close to 50 years and was best known for his roles in the musical dramedy “Hair,” Steven Spielberg’s “1941,” and the TV series “Everwood,” passed away as a result of a motorbike accident in Dorset, Vermont.
