(AFP) Paris – After protestors and police battled over a contentious irrigation project that put one man in a coma, French authorities are soon set to issue an order disbanding a climate activist group.

The Uprisings of the Earth (SLT) group was charged with inciting the violence at the March protests near Sainte-Soline in western France, where officials reported that roughly 30 police officers also sustained injuries, according to government spokesperson Olivier Veran.

“You don’t end a connection due to its ideologies. Veran told CNews television, “You dissolve it when there is violence or a risk to public safety. You cannot disband a movement, SLT had claimed on its website, promising to challenge the closure directive. A uprising cannot be put down.
