The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a petition seeking to prevent the prosecution from charging the PTI chairman in the death of a well-known lawyer in Quetta.

The defence had filed a stay order because they opposed to their client being nominated in the murder case. However, a two-member bench comprised of Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Ayesha Malik rejected the appeal to vacate the non-bailable warrants issued for the accused.

The bench noted that because a two-member high court bench had dismissed the plea, the two-member Supreme Court bench could not grant a stay.
